Helping build your business at home and overseas

Am I fit to export?

In the competitive world of international trade and export, only companies that are committed, focused and flexible will succeed against global competitors.

Both new and experienced exporters need to assess how ‘fit to export’ their company is. This short quiz will help you assess your export readiness and indicate which areas your business needs to strengthen to improve its export activities.

Consider these questions and then discuss your answers with our client development team.

  • Is your company currently successful in the UK market?
  • Does your company have a marketing strategy that incorporates international trade development?
  • Do you have the financial resources to support the development of your exports and marketing of your products internationally?
  • Are your current human and production resources capable of developing your export markets, or do you have the capacity to adequately deal with the potentially increased demands?
  • Does your company have adequate knowledge of modifying product packaging and ingredients to meet foreign import regulations, food safety standards and cultural preferences?
  • Does your company understand the logistics of exporting the product overseas, such as: selecting international freight forwarders, INCO terms and the costs involved?
  • Does your company understand export payment mechanisms and export finance?

Don't worry if you can't answer 'yes' to all of these questions. FFB's client development team is able to provide guidance about all of these subjects, as well as advising you about your product's potential markets overseas.
